University of East Anglia
Professor Roger Few has worked for more than 20 years on the connections between disaster risk, environment and development. His principal interest is in how households, communities and institutions respond to risks to well-being, health and livelihoods associated with environmental, climatic, geophysical and epidemiological hazards. As well as research on understanding social vulnerability and strengthening capacities for risk reduction, his work is increasingly focussing on how societies may effectively recover from disasters and emergencies. He has additional expertise in the use of creative methods to enhance resilience, including the development of novel citizen-centric engagement mechanisms for working with at-risk populations.
